Made in West-Vlaanderen - European Spinning Group launches #hackyourjeans
In the presence of ESG CEO Julie Liétaer, Mayor Vincent van Quickenborne and 'Homo Circularis' Jan Matthys, the shop window in shopping mall K in Kortrijk was officially opened.
This window tells the circular story of more than 15 partners of #hackyourjeans, who bring products based on old jeans.
Together they are part of the on- and offline platform intended to raise awareness among the general public about the possibilities of circular economy and to stimulate co-creation in textile and fashion.
In exchange for a photo at the shop window, a discount can be obtained for Clarysse's Towel2 towel (www.clarysse.com), also made out of recycled jeans, for sale at Santa's Magic Shop in shopping mall K in Kortrijk.
The shop window can be viewed until February 2020 with a focus on product innovation. To make the link with the collection of old jeans, the problem of the waste mountain is creatively visualized in the Kiosk, an initiative of Designregio Kortrijk. All this is also done in collaboration with Kringloopwinkel Kortrijk, which makes a collection container available during the month of November.
